George Perkins (singer)
George Perkins (25 September 1942, Denham Springs, Louisiana - 17 April 2013, Hammond, Louisiana〔(RIP, George Perkins (1942-2013): Soul giant behind “Cryin’ in the Streets” remembered by Jeff Hannusch )〕) was an American soul singer, best known for his 1970 hit "Crying In The Streets" which was based on observation of the Martin Luther King funeral.〔Charles L.
